The inaugural workshop on award-winning cases: Budweiser APAC Spinoff(A/B): The Financial Strategy for Localization

This is a multidisciplinary case that can be used in a wide range of courses, including accounting and finance as well as strategy. We managed to combine topics from various disciplines by framing the case around how spinning off foreign subsidiaries helps global companies not only raise much-needed funds but also become more local. The latter takes students well beyond the narrow financial repercussions of the spinoff and encourages them to think about how spinoffs can help foreign subsidiaries better exploit their knowledge of local customers, markets, and operating conditions.
